Xmas Unwrapped: Freenow spreads festive magic across Europe

To take the pressure off frazzled Londoners, Freenow kicked off December by giving away pre-wrapped Secret Santa gifts to lucky passengers, delivered right across the capital by our dedicated black cab driver partners. It was all about making 'shopping without the dropping' a reality, ensuring a convenient and reliable taxi service continued throughout the festive season.

In Poland, Freenow taxi drivers went the extra mile for local communities, using their time, care, and local expertise to ensure essential support reached those who needed it most.

In Warsaw Freenow drivers assisted volunteers of the Warsaw Uprising Museum in delivering more than 450 Christmas packages with essential goods to veterans of the Warsaw Uprising, helping ensure they could celebrate holidays with comfort and dignity. In Gdańsk, we joined forces with Szlachetna Paczka (Noble Gift), one of Poland’s leading charitable organisations, to transport aid packages directly to families and individuals in need, supporting volunteers in their mission.

In Spain we brought festive cheer straight to the streets of Madrid and Barcelona. Freenow team members transformed into Santa Claus and elves, visiting taxi ranks to surprise our dedicated driver partners with gifts and a smile.

The activation was all about celebrating and thanking the drivers who keep our cities moving every day, even during the busiest time of the year. The Freenow taxi drivers are the ones who make the magic of Christmas possible.

The holiday season is always a busy time for travelers, and this year is no different. In Ireland we are stepping up to support both driver partners and passengers, ensuring a smooth ride for everyone during the festive rush. 

To reward our hardworking partner-drivers, we’ve announced up to €12 million in bonuses, helping them maximize their earnings during the busiest weeks of the year. 

To strengthen our connection with the people who keep our cities moving, Freenow hosted a special Meet & Greet with our team at our offices in Rome and Milan. The initiative was designed to say thank you to our taxi driver partners for their dedication this year and to create space for genuine, face-to-face connection. Drivers were invited to stop by, enjoy snacks, chat with our local teams, and take a well-deserved break from their busy schedules. As a token of our appreciation, each driver could pick a scratch card for the chance to win a range of rewards. 

These meetings reflected our ongoing commitment to supporting, valuing, and celebrating the driver partners who are at the heart of Freenow’s community.

This Xmas in Greece, small daily gestures added up to something truly meaningful. In 2025, our users raised €120,000 for The Smile of the Child by simply rounding up their trip fares through our Round Up and Donate feature, turning everyday rides into support for the country’s leading child welfare organization. The full €120,000 contribution will strengthen the Organization’s fleet, ensuring uninterrupted operation of its 10 specialized Action Centers across Greece and supporting vital health, welfare, and social services for children and families.
