Meet Zain Baig, Senior Driver Operations Executive at Freenow by Lyft.
Zain's journey at Freenow started back in 2018 as a temp in Driver Care. since then, he's grown into a role where he supports our driver community, manages the Driver Centre in London, and works closely with external partners. We caught up with him to talk about his journey so far, what drives him in his role, and what makes Freenow a place he continues to grow.
Let’s start with a fun question. What’s something about you most people don’t know?
A fun fact about me is that I’m completely obsessed with my cat. He’s basically the CEO of my household.

I was born in London, and my ethnicity is Pakistani. I started my journey with Freenow in February 2018 as a temp in Driver Care, and over the years I’ve grown into my current role as a Senior Driver Operations Executive.
Today, I manage our Driver Centre in London and work closely with external stakeholders, which is a part of the role I truly love. I support and work closely with our driver community.
I also launched the Driver to Driver programme and introduced the Special Quest Bonus for new drivers on 1 October 2025, initiatives designed to support driver acquisition and growth.
What does your role challenge you on, and what do you enjoy most?
One of the unique challenges of my role is supporting a diverse driver community with very different needs, expectations, and working styles. Finding solutions that work for everyone requires patience, adaptability, and strong communication.
What’s been your favourite part of working at Freenow so far?
Definitely the team and the culture. Freenow offers amazing opportunities to grow, and I feel supported to keep developing in my role.
