From managing diverse partnerships to navigating a fast moving, ever changing landscape, Laura Sanchez Gutierrez brings curiosity and energy to everything she does. Since joining Freenow by Lyft in late 2024, she’s become part of the Central Partnerships team, working closely with a wide range of partners across the business.

We sat down with Laura to explore her journey into partnerships, the diversity of her role, and the collaborative culture that shapes her experience at Freenow.

Before we dive in, tell us something about yourself that most people might not know.

I’m not sure if it’s surprising, but I’ve loved sailing and water activities since I was 9 years old. I got my first Small Boat certification in 2010, and after many years living in Europe, I finally earned my skipper diploma in December 2023, thanks to an unforgettable, and slightly tough, sailing trip to Mallorca and back.

How did your journey to Freenow begin, and what does your role look like today?

I come from the tourism world, where I worked as an Account Manager at an OTA before joining Freenow. I joined the team in October 2024 and work as a Key Account Manager in the Central Partnerships team, where I get to work with great partners and an amazing team.

What keeps your role interesting day to day?

I think the most unique, and at the same time challenging, aspect of my role is how different every partner is. We have partnerships of all types, including marketing, supply, demand, New Mobility, and driver benefits, which makes the work very dynamic. Everything we do for each partner feels like its own world.

What stands out to you most about working at Freenow?

My favourite thing about working at Freenow is the people. I love the collaborative vibe and how everyone gets along. Working with colleagues from all kinds of professional backgrounds and cultures keeps things exciting and fun.

What would you advise someone thinking about joining Freenow by Lyft?

My advice would be to be curious and open to learning. It’s a dynamic place with lots of different projects and people from all backgrounds, so no two days are the same. It’s a great place for people who enjoy collaboration and taking on new challenges.

We’re glad to have Laura as part of Freenow and we’re excited to see how she continues to shape and grow our partnerships! If her story resonates with you, maybe it’s time to explore your own next step with us!
