FREENOW integrates Bird e-scooters and e-bikes across Europe
FREENOW users in Italy, Spain and France can now access a fleet of nearly 16k Bird e-scooters and e-bikes.
Through this partnership, users can rent Bird vehicles directly via the FREENOW app, which will also allow them to locate the nearest available vehicle.
The partnership will continue to expand throughout European markets in the near future.
19th of May, 2025 - FREENOW, Europe’s multi-mobility app with taxis at its core, has announced a partnership with Bird, a global micromobility provider. Nearly 16,000 e-scooters and e-bikes from Bird in Italy, Spain, and France are now integrated into the FREENOW app. Users in cities like Barcelona, Milan, Rome, or Bordeaux can easily locate the nearest Bird e-bike or e-scooter and rent it using their existing account and payment methods.
Bird is a key global micro-mobility player operating in more than 250 cities. FREENOW already partners with over 20 mobility providers in Europe to offer a full range of mobility alongside its core taxi services. With Bird as a partner, FREENOW is expanding its multimobility offering across Europe.
Alexander Bräutigam, Head of Partnerships at FREENOW said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Bird, one of the leading global micro-mobility providers, which will significantly expand the range of micro-mobility options available to FREENOW users. This partnership strengthens our portfolio of top mobility providers integrated with FREENOW across Europe and perfectly complements our core taxi offering. We are excited to work with Bird to provide users with a convenient and fun e-scooter and e-bike experience, whether for last-mile commutes or exploring the city. We also look forward to rolling out this partnership to more European cities.”
Users in Italy, Spain and France are now able to enjoy rides with co-branded vehicles with discounts for first rentals via the FREENOW app.
“Giving millions of FREENOW users seamless access to thousands of Bird vehicles across Europe drives forward our mission of making multimodal travel effortless and convenient. Together, we can move more people, in more places, in more ways” said Michael Washinushi, Bird's co-CEO.
In Italy, FREENOW has integrated over 10,000 Bird e-scooters in cities where both platforms operate, including Rome, Milan, Palermo, Turin, and Naples. This partnership allows its users in Italy to access e-scooters from three different providers, bringing the total number available through FREENOW to over 20,000.
In Spain, FREENOW users are now able to rent Bird e-bikes in Barcelona and e-scooters in Gijon. Bird is now the fourth e-bike partner integrated with FREENOW in Barcelona, meaning that more than half of the e-bikes available on the streets of the Catalan capital are now accessible via this platform. A city renowned for its vibrant culture and attracting countless tourists, is perfectly suited for exploring by e-bike, and FREENOW sees a significant portion of rentals being made by its cross-border users.
While taxis remain at the heart of FREENOW's services, the company continues to actively seek partnerships with leading mobility providers like Bird to ensure users have access to the most comprehensive and convenient options for getting from point A to B.
